Biography

Denita Paul LaShore has been a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Center for Transportation Training and Research (CTTR) since 1997. She has studied Economics at the University of Houston, Central Campus, after which, she was employed with the Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs for a period of seven years. The primary administrative figure in the Center for Transportation, she is responsible for all the day-to-day functions of the office, including but not limited to university expense reporting, which is among the most recent and considered one of the most important of her duties. She is responsible for the coordination of CTTR’s research support documentation disseminated to various offices campus wide. Since 2005, she has served as the editor of CTTR’s annual newsletter TranScript. The newsletter highlights all of CTTR’s most notable activities and student academic achievements and has become an integral part in the promotion of the Center. Denita has had the opportunity to participate in many campus functions for the Department of Transportation Studies, as well as acting as the point person for coordinating many of CTTR’s activities through campus Special Events. She provides assistance in the preparation for all of CTTR’s conferences, among those included were the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Conference, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Conference as well as all the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) related project activities held in Houston. As CTTR’s research dictates, she assists in the preparation of and lends project support for the various research documents produced by the Center each year.
