Helminthology Lab

Supervisor: Abdel-Rahman Lab   SB 314

This lab is equipped with facilities that allow imaging through different types of microscopes, such as stereomicroscope, compound microscopes, such as stereomicroscopes, compound microscopes, including bright field, dark field, phase contrast differential interference contrast (DIC) and fluorescence optics. All are connected and operated by computers and software for image analysis and processing. The lab is equipped with research facilities that enable the work with wide range of organisms such as bacteria, fungi, algae, insects, and nematodes. Currently, we are using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans to understand the adverse effects of different environmental factors and pollutants on the living systems. Also the lab is equipped with a microtome for histology, histopathology and histochemistry research. The lab is equipped with 2 refrigerators, a -80 freezer, balances, and other small equipment.
