Educational Activities

Introduction

Educational activities will be conducted to improve the curriculum in the existing Maritime Transportation Management and Security program by incorporating the research results of the proposed DHS SLA program.

Activity 2.1: Developing new curricula or updating curricula and courses for the existing Maritime Transportation Management and Security program

TSU will develop new or updated curricula and courses to incorporate the research results of the proposed DHS SLA program. Such new courses will be interdisciplinary and will include inputs from the Department of Transportation Studies, the Department of Mathematics, and the Department of Computer Science. Examples of such courses are a course on maritime risk assessment and resiliency analysis, a course on cyber security for port security, etc.

Activity 2.2: Develop training programs, regional conferences, workshops, etc.

The training programs, conferences, and workshops are designed to enhance the skills of maritime professionals and facilitate communication and information exchange between maritime professionals and students.
