Abstract
This talk will focus on initiating research in discrete dynamical systems. The tent map and various modifications of the tent map will be presented and discussed. In particular, the consideration will be given to finding period-2 and period-3 points for parameterized piecewise liner maps.
Biography
Dr. Taylor grew up in Houston, Texas. He obtained his BS and MS degrees from Prairie View A&M University, and PhD degree in 1974 from the University of Houston. His research is in the area of difference and differential equations. He has been a professor at the Texas Southern University since 1981. Dr. Taylor has published around 40 papers in refereed journals and supervised more than twenty-five graduate students. Dr. Taylor has received multiple grants from agencies including NSF and DOE. He has created the L.L. Clarkson Mathematical research Experience at Texas Southern in 2009 and is a director of LSAMP.
