{"id":19,"date":"2016-08-30T07:41:35","date_gmt":"2016-08-30T12:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coset.tsu.edu\/eis\/?page_id=19"},"modified":"2019-08-24T17:06:06","modified_gmt":"2019-08-24T22:06:06","slug":"ras","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/coset.tsu.edu\/eis\/ras\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Assistanship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Title III fellowship<\/h2>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION FOR TITLE III GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP<\/strong> (download <a href=\"http:\/\/eis.tsu.edu\/WebPages\/ApplicationForm.docx\">Application Form <\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>GENERAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine Parts 1-6 and Submit Original and a Copy of all Parts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completed cover sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Plan of Study.<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement of Career Goals\/Objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae.<\/li>\n<li>Letters of reference (2).<\/li>\n<li>Graduate Program Acceptance Letter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR EACH APPLICATION PART<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover Sheet: Complete the attached two page form, which must be signed and dated.<\/li>\n<li>Plan of Study:\n<ul>\n<li>Should outline your motive for applying to the graduate program at TSU.<\/li>\n<li>Should include your overall expectations for this program.<\/li>\n<li>Should detail your research interests, plans for your graduate work and potential supervisor(s), if known.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement: Include career goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae: Should include your most recent employment, previous fellowships, scholarships, and awards, past publications, presentations, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Transcripts (or other materials when transcripts are not issued) Required from all appropriate institutions. Applicants for graduate student fellowships must submit undergraduate and graduate transcripts.<\/li>\n<li>Letters of reference: If possible, one should come from your graduate or academic advisor\/professor and one from your most recent employer.<\/li>\n<li>Acceptance Letter: Attach a copy of your acceptance letter into the Environmental Toxicology Program from the graduate office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>NSF RISE scholarship<\/h2>\n<p>Minority PhD students in the Environmental Toxicology program may competitively apply for the NSF RISE Fellowships which carry a stipend in the amount of $22,000 per student for 12 months in addition to an $8000.00 tuition waiver. Travel to national and local conferences may also be competitively supported for Fellowship awardees.
